A tale of generational differences set to a jazz soundtrack
llltdesq10 April 2014
Warning: Spoilers
This is a UPA one shot cartoon. There will be mild spoilers ahead:

This short is the story of a family of brass instruments. Papa wants his son Orville to play music in the traditional way, as his father does. Orville wants to explore the boundaries, without restraint. Think jazz versus classical.

Orville plays baseball with his young friends and they play hot jazz. Papa stops Orville and Orville becomes despondent. The doctor is called and is baffled. Orville has lost all interest in everything.

Orville's buddies show up and start playing "A Band is Nothing Without a Horn". Orville revives and all is well. It's a cute short.

This short is on a DVD box set of UPA Jolly Frolics. This short is very good and the DVD set is excellent. Recommended.
