Ron Sullivan's "Tight Lips" made under his nom de porn Henri Pachard, is hardly an important video, but its opening sex scene is one for the ages. I have seen it anthologized elsewhere, rightly so, as the combination of Kaitlyn Ashley, Asia Carrera and a massage table makes for must viewing, as sensual an explicit sex scene as possible.
But unlike the industry awards' bodies (and most IMDb contributors), I don't judge or critique a porn feature in terms of an individual scene, you know "the best all-girl scene" approach to skinema. Taken as a whole this is not among the maestro's best efforts. Its battle of the sexes subtext has some subtle ramifications but is fairly routine.
Most interesting aspect is that the two principal heroines address the camera directly in describing their respective situations, and they get the last laugh. Itinerant rock & roll musician T.T. Boy is a sexist womanizer without scruples and much of the action consists of well-shot sex scenes as he and his best buddy Alex Sanders satisfy themselves with what amount to groupies in context. That age-old porn issue of "who is really in control?" is what makes their behavior vis-a-vis the various women's attitudes somewhat interesting.
Beyond the superstars Kaitlyn and Asia, the very obscure actress D.J. Alden also gets her licks in, and Nicole London is sexily reliable as always. Had the plot been stronger perhaps Ron could have built a great film around that brilliant opening scene.
DVD is one of hundreds of Caballero issues that mistakenly (and misleadingly) lists "Shot on 35mm" on the back liner in an effort to tag the contents as Classic era porn, but this like so many others was shot on video a decade after shooting on motion picture film became a rare occurrence.
