The Wu-Tang Killer Bees are swarming on the Pharma Bro — sort of — in a dope new track posted this week to Soundcloud. On Friday, the Wu-Tang Clan dropped a new single, “Lessons Learn’d,” from the group’s upcoming album “The Saga Continues.” Featuring Wu-Tang heavyweight Inspectah Deck and frequent Wu-Tang guest rapper Redman, the song includes the line “my price hikin’ like the pills Martin Shkreli sell.” The line refers to the now-imprisoned pharmaceutical investor who became derisively referred to as “Pharma Bro” after his company acquired the antiparasitic drug Daraprim, essential in the treatment of AIDS-related opportunistic illnesses,...

The Peabody award-winning The Leftovers concludes on Sunday, June 4 and through its three seasons, the show has become just as acclaimed for its music as its incredible story, writing and acting.
While the HBO series is no stranger to change (season one's opening titles used an original piece by composer Max Richter, and season two used Iris DeMent's "Let the Mystery Be"), season three has gone even further, adapting the theme song to each episode. "[It was showrunner] Damon Lindelof's decision," music supervisor Liza Richardson tells Et by phone, adding that the music choices on the series vary between her and Lindelof's allegiance to certain artists, love of repetition and the desire to "surprise."

"We called it 'smack fu,'" Mike Colter says, before breaking into a wide grin. The smile on the face of the Luke Cage star is startling enough, given that the superhero at the center of the latest Marvel/Netflix collaboration spends most of the show's 13 episodes with a somber look on his face since, carrying the world on your ballistics-impervious broad shoulders is serious work. Listening to him discuss his character's brute-strength combat style while nimbly digging through a bowl of sugar cubes for his coffee only adds to the oddness.

One of the most interesting side effects of film and television’s embrace of the superhero narrative is that we get so many interesting stories about what it means to actually be heroic. Heroism, after all, isn’t about putting on a costume or assembling some gear. Sometimes, as in the case of “Marvel’s Luke Cage,” it’s as simple as stepping outside in a sweatshirt.

For those who have not seen The quintessential samurai flick Shogun Assassin, just stop reading now and go watch it. That said, Lone Wolf and Cub was originally a manga about a samurai pushing his son around in a carriage while seeking revenge. It has two things I love - a high body count and spraying blood. It was made into 6 different films in the 1970s and in 1980 the first two of these was re-cut and dubbed in English.. and they made Shogun Assassin for the American market. Wu-Tang member Gza's first album, Liquid Swords, uses cuts from this film.

Two men were stabbed earlier this weekend at the New Jersey home of hip-hop artist and Wu-Tang Clan co-founder RZA, according to reports. New Jersey State Police told NJ.com they received a call around 1:18 a.m. on Saturday, coming from a Millstone Township residence where two men had sustained serious injuries. Responders took the unidentified victims to Jersey Shore Medical Center, where they are believed to be in stable condition. Authorities have not yet revealed other details; NJ.com cited property records that said the house was RZA’s. The multihyphenate himself was not present at the time of the stabbing, however, as he and Wu-Tang performed at Fun Fun Fun Fest in Austin this weekend. Sources told Page Six that RZA’s adult children were holding a party before the incident occurred. What began as a potential gimmick had shown signs of being a noble endeavor. "The music industry is in crisis. Creativity has become disposable and value has been stripped out. Here's something we never thought we'd say: Today A Better Tomorrow (Warner Bros.), the Wu-Tang Clan's sixth studio album, is finally tracked, mastered, and available to buy. Yes, after years of internal turmoil that often spilled into the media, all ten members of the Wu are once again together. (Rip, Ol’ Dirty Bastard.) It seemed like this might never happen. Just over six months ago, Raekwon went “on strike,” which prompted RZA to issue an ultimatum and tell Si Now, "it will either be an album without Raekwon, or an album that never sees the light of day." But unlike that last update on our Shaolin friends, this timeline has a surprise twist and a happy ending. March 7, 2011: Raekwon releases Shaolin vs. Wu-Tang, a solo concept album. It includes three...

Wu-Tang Clan have a release date for their oft-delayed new album "A Better Tomorrow," and they're sticking with it: mark Dec. 2 on your calendar. Perhaps as a sign of good faith, the crew has dropped another actual new song, "Ruckus in B Minor," from the set. Pre-order has also gone up, and fans can get three tracks straightaway if they so choose to do so: "Ruckus" plus two other previously released tunes, "Keep Watch" and "Ron O'Neal." What may also surprise Wu-Tang supporters -- aside from the shock that the group is releasing their first effort in seven years -- is that the voice of the late Ol' Dirty Bastard (aka Odb) will be, in some manner, present on the set. Here is the tracklist for Wu-Tang Clan's "A Better Tomorrow": 1. Ruckus In B Minor 2. Felt 3. 40th Street Black / We Will fight 4. Mistaken Identity 5. Hold the Heater 6. Crushed...

• Oscar nominee Casey Affleck will return to his native Massachusetts to star in and produce a film based on the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing. The script written by Eric Johnson and Paul Tamasy (The Fighter) is based on the book "Boston Strong" by Casey Sherman and Dave Wedge and chronicles the massive manhunt to find the two men believed responsible for the bombings and the city's response to the horrific events. [Variety] • Steve Carell will continue his trend of taking on less comedic roles in an untitled thriller from director Gore Verbinski (The Lone Ranger). The film will be the third straight...

Rapper, producer, and filmmaker RZA is set to bolster his acting credentials even further by joining Paco Cabezas’ romantic action-comedy, Mr. Right.
According to Deadline, RZA — real name Robert Fitzgerald Diggs — will star alongside Sam Rockwell and Anna Kendrick in the film, which follows a young woman (Kendrick) who falls head over heels for the seemingly perfect man. However, as the story unfolds, we learn that the titular Mr. Right just so happens to moonlight as a hitman — now that’s a gnarly skeleton to keep locked up in the closet.
Nonetheless, in terms of RZA’s role, it’s understood the celebrated rapper will step into the shoes of Shotgun Steve, a trained marksman who collaborates with an opposing gangster. At this stage, that’s all we have in terms of plot details, though Deadline reports that Max Landis — the scribe behind 2012’s excellent found footage superhero flick, Chronicle.

Rapper/producer/actor/director RZA has joined the cast of Mr. Right alongside Anna Kendrick and Sam Rockwell, EW has confirmed. The Paco Cabezas-directed film follows Anna Kendrick (Pitch Perfect) as a woman who falls in love with a hit-man. RZA will play Shotgun Steve, a marksman who works for a rival gangster. Max Landis (Chronicle) will be penning the script. Deadline was the first to report the news. This isn't the first time the Wu-Tang rapper has appeared on the big screen. In addition to directing 2012's Man with the Iron Fists, he most recently appeared in G.I. Joe: Retaliation and Brick Mansions.

Wu-Tang Clan have been talking about it for a while, and now it looks like a reality: the legendary rap group's 20th anniversary album, "A Better Tomorrow," finally has a release date, and right in the nick of time. Warner Bros. Records wild drop the set on Dec. 2 this year... so at least now it won't be out on their 21st anniversary. RZA, Gza, Method Man, Raekwon, Ghostface Killah, Inspectah Deck, U-God, Masta Killa, and Cappadonna will all be present and accounted for on the set. In a very corporate-y statement, Wu-Tang had this to say in a release: "Wu-Tang Clan is excited to join the Warner family of esteemed artists. After 20 years in the business with different label outlets, we are delighted to be amongst a team of industry professionals who understand our unique artistry and will help spread it to the masses unadulterated. RZA and his brother Divine...

The Wu-Tang Clan is a hip-hop empire built on a foundation of kung fu movies — and last night at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, the RZA detailed some of the connections. First on the bill: a screening of the 1978 Shaw Brothers classic The 36th Chamber of Shaolin, which had a resurgence of popularity in 1993 because of the Wu-Tang debut album, Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers). Then the Wu-Tang's producer/leader and Elvis Mitchell (curator of the presenting organization, Film Independent at Lacma) engaged in a half-hour conversation about...

In Tom McCarthy’s whimsical new film The Cobbler, which premiered at the Toronto Film Festival this week, Adam Sandler plays a weary, fourth-generation Lower East Side shoemaker who discovers a magical sewing machine that allows him to switch bodies with his customers when he puts on their shoes. He use this power to embody a host of colorful characters (including a local thug, played by the Wu-Tang Clan's Cliff 'Method Man' Smith), to fight back against a sleazy real-estate developer (Ellen Barkin) and to unite with his long-lost father (Dustin Hoffman). It's a darkly comedic, feel-good, footwear-themed anti-gentrification fairy tale, and when we caught up with McCarthy and Sandler at Tiff, our conversation was similarly genre-spanning, touching on gentrification, masturbation, pickles, Wu-Tang, and whether Sandler could fit into the reporter's rather small shoes (verdict: "I could crunch into those").Adam, this and Men, Women and Children...

RZA takes a very practical approach to the celebrity nude photo scandal ... hackers can't steal what does not exist. Our photog spotted the Wu-Tang legend at Lax Monday ... when we asked him about the scandal that has affected dozens of celebs like Jennifer Lawrence, Kate Upton, and Ariana Grande RZA says he's even discussed it with his wife -- you gotta hear him describe their "no nude photos" policy. He stops just short of blaming the celeb victims,...

If I have to tell you that a Wu-Tang song is Nsfw, even when it's comprised of movie dialogue, then there is no hope for you. Production is in full swing for the upcoming Nwa biopic Straight Outta Compton, but we.re still waiting on Wu-Tang Clan to become the center of a major motion picture. (Preferably one with a sizable bee and kung-fu budget.) The video above is probably the next best thing, as it.s one of Wu-Tang.s most popular songs ("Wu-Tang Clan Ain't Nuthin' Ta Fuck Wit") as "sung" using a wide variety of movie clips. And it is amazing. Why haven.t YouTube and IMDb gotten together to fill the Internet with mash-ups like this? The video, which was recently compiled by YouTuber "Jukka-Pekka Bohm," seems like it would have been inspired entirely by the opening clip of Bill Murray saying "Wu-Tang Clan," as seen...

With the obvious exception of dear departed Ol Dirty Bastard, the entire Wu-Tang Clan reunited on “The Daily Show” last night to celebrate their 20th anniversary and because nothing brings old band members back together like a new album to promote. All nine surviving members, including RZA, Ghostface Killah, Method Man, Inspectah Deck, Gza, and longtime hold-out Raekwon, performed “Ron O’Neal” from the November release, “A Better Tomorrow,” as well as Wu-Tang chestnut, “Triumph.” It’s worth watching the video just for the act’s intro and to meet a new surprise member. Raekwon, who told Rolling Stone in April that he wouldn’t be part of the new project because of business differences (as opposed to the usual creative differences), explained his change of heart—kind of— to Jon Stewart by comparing himself to an athlete: “I consider this a sport," Raekwon said. "I think it's important as...

New Release
The Protector 2
R, 1 Hr., 44 Mins.
Thai martial-arts maestro Tony Jaa’s newest film overloads on terrible F/X that rob the film of the actor’s usual brute-force balleticism. Also, RZA plays the bad guy — and someone needs to tell the Wu-Tang master that he can’t act (or fight). The Protector 2 does have a loony charm (actual line of dialogue: “You lost your elephant again?”), and Jija Yanin Wismitanan has a scene-stealing turn as a lady warrior seeking — wait for it — vengeance. (Also available on iTunes and VOD) B- —Darren Franich

The hip-hop icon RZA has been popping up in the news quite frequently of late, having helped prep a secret Wu-Tang Clan project called Once Upon a Time in Shaolin for auction to one (and only one) buyer, finding himself caught up in a war of words with Wu colleague Raekwon over the crew’s upcoming A Better Tomorrow, and promoting his role alongside the late Paul Walker as a drug lord in the new action film Brick Mansions. Despite his busy schedule, Vulture got RZA on the phone while he was cruising through New York and let him hold court on these and other RZA-related topics. With Brick Mansions, Gang Related, the new Wu-Tang albums, and the sad Christ Bearer incident, you probably don’t have much to talk about, huh?Ha-ha. Nah, not too much to talk about, kid. I’m just driving through New York City looking at the buildings.
