The Girls Get Fighting
boblipton5 July 2019
Vera Vague (real name: Barbara Jo Allen) and and Claire Carleton are clerks at the haberdashery counter of a department store. In strolls William Hall, a cowboy who says he has a ranch of 80,000 acres. Both girls are in love and each determines to marry him, amidst some competition and a Columbia-shorts-style catfight.

There are some good jokes in this Jules White comedy, particularly the end gag. Most of the middle of the comedy is taken up with Miss Vague learning the skills Mr. Hall has proclaimed necessary for his wife, including riding, roping and singing western songs. As is typical for a Jules White comedy, the gags are augmented by an obviously slowed-down camera, wirework and breakable props. Still, if you like that sort of gag -- and there are many who do -- you'll find this a funny one.
