They need to be carefully taught.

Robert Vernay is remembered for his two versions of "Le Comte De Monte-Cristo,in the forties in the occupation days, then in the fifties a remake in color .He also responsible for the first version of "le capitan"

In the latter film, Sophie Desmarets was cast as Marion Delorme ,and afterwards she became his favorite actress in heavy-handed comedies , like this one ,typically Saturday-night-at-the -movies genre.

This one is particularly aimed at the children's market for both heroes are brats ; their grandma frets ,because she fears they might not be exactly carefully taught : her son is a failed writer ,and she calls his new wife " gourgandine "(=hussy);actually their door is always open and there's always enough to go around . They lead a bohemian life, which the snob haughty grannie cannot stand .

So the "endangered" children are to spend their holiday with this well-meaning lady in her desirable mansion where , of course , they get into mischief ,but not too much ;thus ,their showing off may irritate in the long run. This ponderous comedy is saved by Gabrielle Dorziat , ideally cast as the fine upstanding lady and Philippe Clay as her phlegmatic English butler.
