Very mediocre French film noir which tries to imitate the big boys of the American cinema.
In order to dismantle a drug traffickers circle,a man infiltrates a gang who happily lives in a luxury villa down by the seaside .He is a cop but the audience only learns it towards the end .There's a woman in the group, and she loves orchids (check the title) and she falls for the newcomer obviously. She is not evil ,but her role is only decorative because he does not really help the hero either. No real suspense,no action,no surprise (unless the discovery that the two thugs who assaulted the heroine on the road are cops too counts).
Two years later ,Henri Decoin made a much better movie about drugs called "Razzia Sur La Chnouf".
