Four servants

Intellectuals,take to your heels!

"Carré de Valets" is a farce, quite mad, which is fine with me.The funny side of the situations does not make any sense ,but it turns the movie into a gleeful story which involves:

-A lazy young lawyer (Jean Desailly, an excellent actor one rarely sees in comedies) whose mother(Denise Grey) is really a pain in the neck.

-A mad trial during which Desailly "saves" three lushes who 'd rather stay in jail because "it's a nice place to spend Winter".The judge did not care anyway ,being too busy talking about his new born grandson !

-Three servants (soon to be joined by another):one

of the three men's daughter (Martine Carol) asks the lawyer to do something for the poor lads he should have sent to jail:so he hires them (and the daughter as a temporary secretary) to take care of his desirable property and his posh mother.

-A society party where the guests' jewels ,money ,gold and silver are stolen by one of the servants."But,says the young lawyer ,don't panic,it was only a conjuring trick to enliven the celebration!"

A film that won't give you a headache!
