Intertitles were replaced after initial release and new intertitles were based on books Martín Fierro and Santos Vega. In 1932 a sound version was released.
After years of being available only in abridged prints, the film finally reconstructed to almost its original form. Only one brief scene is missing that features some people dancing tangos in the Armenonville.
