Friday The Thirteenth
boblipton19 March 2023
Andy Clyde thinks it's unlucky for him because it's Friday the 13th. In truth, what's unlucky for him is he keeps running into Barbara Pepper, who's engaged to a jealous Vernon Dent.

It's always fun to watch Andy in work, contrasting his slow reactions to the high-speed chaos. There is also a thrill comedy bit as he clings to a telephone, and the appearance of a Murphy bed, one of my favorite comedy props. In truth, though, it all has a random air to it, gag sequences out of the Columbia Shorts playbook chosen at random with just enough detail to make them sort of fit together. With Blanche Payson as a hotel detective at a ladies-only hotel.
