The world was saddened to hear that Oscar winner Robin Williams died Monday of a suspected suicide at the age of 63. Williams' influence was vast, and spanned across film and television to music as well, with five Grammys to his credit and three charting albums on the Billboard 200. Williams' Reality… What a Concept reached No. 10 in 1979 and won him his first Grammy Award, for best comedy recording. He later won three more best comedy recording Grammys, as well as a trophy for best recording for children (for "Pecos Bill" in 1988). "Our entertainment community has lost an

In the first few months of 2014 animated feature films seem to be setting the box office ablaze. The Lego Movie has reigned at number one for the past three weekends while a holdover from last year, Frozen hovers in the top ten after becoming the highest grossing animated feature of all time. Both employ state of the art computer technology to give them a fully rounded three-dimensional look (even without the stereo-optic specs). But what of hand-drawn animation? Sure, it’s used for television on popular shows like “Spongebob Squarepants” and “Adventure Time” along with commercials and short subjects. The Disney Studios made history with their traditional-drawn features beginning with the Snow White story in the 1930′s. Then Pixar arrived in 1994 with the first Toy Story and established a new look for feature animation. Almost all new features were made with the new tech, although Disney attempted to revive the...

Something about Brett Ratner directing a kids’ film makes me… uncomfortable, so this producing credit kind of means a lot to yours truly. Anyway, Variety reports that Mr. Tower Heist will utilize the power of his Rat Entertainment to adapt Zenescope Entertainment’s comic The Library.
The original series, written by Joe Brusha, the original series centers on a teenage girl, Sela Mathers, who discovers a library book that, when unlocked, allows her to interact with everything contained in the other novels around her. (Robin Hood, Dorothy, Alice, etc.) That’s all good fun, understandably, but some problems come to light when the antagonists of these same stories also find themselves in the real world.
Ratner calls The Library “perfect” stuff for his company, seeing as they’re focused on delivering “material with a unique sensibility, connecting and transporting audiences.” Speaking as an outsider, I can more or less see where he’s coming from,...

Previously on Pretty Little Liars, one twin child stabbed another twin child in the heart because of an argument about a Cabbage Patch Doll or something. Or perhaps that was only a story Alison told on the Halloween that she got murdered the first of many times. Also on that Halloween Alison was blackmailed by someone named "A," who has now whittled the population of Rosewood down to about ten residents. Four of those residents recently nicked "A"'s cell phone, and handed it over to a gay hobo named Caleb for some of his patented telecommunications sorcery.
The Liars have gathered together in Spencer's kitchen to see what kind of stuff Caleb was able to recover from A's cryptographic cell phone. Hanna is acting ferrety about handing over the flash drive because as soon as she does, the sniper outside Lucas' bedroom window will put a bullet right through Caleb's brain helmet.

Just days before the release of "Tangled," Disney shocked the world by announcing the film would be their last fairy tale princess story. But while there was much wailing, another, more positive milestone has been somewhat overlooked: "Tangled" marked the studio's 50th animated feature.
We know what you're thinking: Surely Disney has made more than 50 movies, right? And it's true, they have. But if there's one thing Disney knows even more than animation, it's how to protect their brand, which is why they've designated some of their features to be official classics and others -- like "The Jungle Book 2" or "Pete's Dragon" -- to be, you know, just something they do on the side for giggles and grins.
To celebrate the release of "Beauty and the Beast 3D," we review and rank all 50 official Disney animated features. Let the subjectivity begin.

Anaheim, Calif. — They shared a stage at Disneyland five days a week for nearly three decades and died within a day of each other.
Betty Taylor, who played Slue Foot Sue in Disney's long-running Golden Horseshoe Revue, passed away Saturday – one day after the death of Wally Boag, who played her character's sweetheart, Pecos Bill.
The 91-year-old Taylor died at her home in Washington state, Disneyland announced on its web site. Boag, who was 90, died Friday. He was a resident of Santa Monica, Calif.
The causes of death were not announced and attempts to contact relatives for comment were not immediately successful.
"Betty's role as leading lady in Disneyland's Golden Horseshoe Revue helped turn it into the longest-running stage show in entertainment history," George Kalogridis, the president of Disneyland Resort, said in a statement. `'It is a tragic coincidence that her passing comes just one day after the death of longtime co-star Wally Boag.
