Toby Tortoise from the Silly Symphony Cartoons "The Tortoise and the Hare (1935)" from 1935 and "Toby Tortoise Returns (1936)" from 1936 in "The Standard Parade" from 1939 has a browner color scheme than usual, and is thus the only character in the short to have a different look.
The various Disney characters featured in "The Standard Parade" from 1939 are: Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Goofy, Pluto, Toby Tortoise from the Oscar winning Silly Symphony Cartoon "The Tortoise and the Hare (1935)" from 1935 and the 1936 Silly Symphony Cartoon "Toby Tortoise Returns (1936)", Fifer, Fiddler and Practical Pig (better known as The Three little Pigs) and the Big Bad Wolf from the Oscar winning Silly Symphony Cartoon "Three Little Pigs (1933)" from 1933, and the Silly Symphony Cartoons: "The Big Bad Wolf (1934)" from 1934, "Three Little Wolves (1936)" from 1936, "The Practical Pig (1939)" from 1939, as well as the promotional animated short of the wartime; "The Thrifty Pig (1941)" from 1941, and finally the Seven Dwarfs: Happy, Grumpy, Sleepy, Doc, Bashful, Sneezy and Dopey from the first American feature-length animated film "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1937)" from 1937.
"The Standard Parade" from 1939 is a promotional animated short, made for Standard Oil's Disney character marketing campaigns.
In the same way as "Parade of the Award Nominees (1932)" from 1932, Mickey Mouse leads the parade except this time it is with various other Disney characters that are holding signs and banners that promote the campaign.
