Writer/Director Scott Wiper described his character of Boomer as "a guy who is down and out and rises through the ugliness at the end of the film for some sort of penance"
After about two years of looking for funding, Scott Wiper finally got the money in early 1999 to complete the film as he had hoped with the original footage that he shot in early 1997 to be used to open the film. Filming officially commenced in September 1999.
Writer/Director Scott Wiper said that there were more scenes shot with Natasha Henstridge to establish the love story between Boomer and Kelly but unfortunately had to be cut for pace issues.
In the scene where Boomer (Director Scott Wiper's character) jumps off Flash's truck and into the ditch, he separated his shoulder and was hospitalized that night.
