A German archaeologist, blonde and beautiful, claims to have found a lost pre-Colombian city of gold. A corrupt government official pressures her to share with him the illegal sale of any artifacts found at this site.
Rebels take control of the Hotel Parador and hold its staff and guests hostage. Among these hostages is Alison Stratton's father who's come to visit his daughter and who's unhappy with the job she's doing.
A nightclub singer comes to Rio and Wiley with a problem she has with the nightclub owner. When Rio tries to help her, he finds himself blamed for the owner's murder.
A series of people going missing is attributed to native superstition. Not buying the story, Rio and Wiley investigate the elaborate scheme, where they suspect organs are being harvested and sold on the black market.
Rio and Wiley come to the aid of an American ambassador being blackmailed by a power-hungry tycoon. Complicating matters is Rio's ex-girlfriend who's now engaged to the tycoon's son.
A mixed martial arts champion comes to Costa Perdida and plans to use his wealth and influence to purchase the land. When locals resist his attempts, he begins taking the land by force. Rio begins training to fight the champion.
An Ebola type of virus breaks out in Costa Perdida. When the entire area gets placed under government quarantine, Rio and Wiley must assist a doctor who is desperately trying to find a cure for the disease before it's too late.
