Lucienne Laurence was Gilbert Dupé's wife.
After the Liberation, Nantes, where the film was to be shot, was badly damaged by the war and could only be used partly. The Quais de la Fosse, for instance, had to be reconstructed in the Buttes Chaumont Studios. Likewise it was quite an ordeal to find a four-master that could double for the "Duchesse Anne".
