- This one has Nylon, an American dancer fleeing Morocco after her employer gets into trouble with the police, and she stops off at Tangiers on her way to Gibraltar. $50,000, in gold, is stolen from the ship's safe and the captain tells the police that the purser was the thief and that he had to kill him in self defense, but the purser must have hidden the money before he got dead. The purser isn't in any position to make a disclaimer. Everybody buys that with the exception of an insurance detective, Shapley, who, along with the audience, suspects the captain of being the thief shows up to investigate further.—Les Adams <longhorn1939@suddenlink.net>
- Nylon, an American dancer at a disreputable nightclub in Morocco, leaves her job when her boss, Paul Morales, is arrested by the police. She boards the North Empress , a ship bound for Gibraltar, and when the ship docks in the Mediterranean port of Tangier, it is discovered that a large sum of money has been stolen from the ship's safe. While Rocheau, the prefect of police, and Ray Shapley, an insurance agent whose company is liable for the money, lead an investigation into the theft, Ned Rankin, the ship's purser, is killed in a fistfight with Sam Graves, the ship's captain. Graves tells Ray about the fight, but Ray is convinced that the captain stole the money and murdered Rankin so that he could frame him for the theft. Shortly after an airplane crashes at the Tangier airport, it is discovered that the pilot of the airplane was killed before it crashed. Suspecting that the person who killed the pilot escaped by parachute before the plane crashed, Rocheau begins a search for the murderer. Meanwhile, Morales finds Nylon at the Hotel Europe and tells her that he was the passenger and murderer aboard the crashed plane, and that he is looking for Graves, his crime partner. Aware that he is being sought by the police, Morales goes into hiding. Though she has fallen in love with Shapley and does not wish to become involved in Morales' criminal activities, Nylon reluctantly agrees to furnish the fugitive with food and shelter while he is in hiding. Graves, who has decided to double-cross Morales and keep all the stolen money, realizes that Nylon knows too much about the scheme and decides to kill her. Instead of killing Nylon himself, though, Graves tries to get Morales to kill her by telling him that she has told the police about him. Graves's plan nearly succeeds until Nylon is rescued from Morales' deadly clutch by gendarmes. Graves then kills Morales, and tells the police that he murdered him in self-defense. Nylon, meanwhile, tells Shapley everything she knows about the criminals, and the safe is eventually recovered. After Graves is caught in a trap set by Shapley and the police, Nylon and Shapley are free to resume their romance.
