Even though we’re right in the midst of the superhero movie season, that doesn’t mean there isn’t plenty being released on Blu-ray and DVD to keep us horror fans happy. This week, we’ve got a handful of new titles coming our way, but also a few retro releases too, including the Roger Corman-produced cult classic Night of the Cobra Woman.
Other new titles arriving on June 17th include the indie sci-fi film Almost Human from Joe Begos, Brett Simmon’s The Monkey’s Paw, as well as the recent remake 13 Sins directed by Daniel Stamm. Teen Wolf Season 3 Part Two makes its home debut this week too, as well as the 20th anniversary DVD edition of Invasion of the Scream Queens.
Spotlight Titles:
13 Sins (Anchor Bay, Blu-ray & DVD)

New Clip from The Well and Screening Details: “At the edge of an expansive barren valley, all that remains of The Wallace Farm for Wayward Youth is a few hollowed-out husks of buildings. Seventeen-year-old Kendal (Haley Lu Richardson) can barely recall when the Oregon valley was still lush. It’s been a decade since the last rainfall, and society at large has dried up and blown away. Kendal and the few others that remain barely scrape by, while dreaming of escape. When a greedy water baron lays claim to what little of the precious resource remains underground, Kendal must decide whether...

Finally the trailer is here for Nightfall Pictures and Twisted Illusions' new anthology film Hi-8 (which stands for Horror. Independent. 8 Filmmakers), and we we have it here for you dripping with indie horror goodness.
From the Press Release
Hi-8 is produced by Brad Sykes, Josephina Sykes, and Tim Ritter. The directors’ lineup is Tim Ritter (Truth or Dare), Brad Sykes (Camp Blood), Marcus Koch (100 Tears), Ron Bonk (The Vicious Sweet), Donald Farmer (Savage Vengeance), Todd Sheets (Zombie Bloodbath), Chris Seaver (Filthy McNasty), and Tony Masiello (Sov: The True Independents).
Producer Brad Sykes got the idea for the anthology while working on Srs Cinema’s upcoming VHS/DVD release of his feature The Pact, which was shot on the Hi-8 format back in 1995 while Sykes was still a college student. He missed those days of carefree filmmaking and approached Tim Ritter with the idea, who already had the Hi-8 title and concept ready to go.

Woman is raped repeatedly over and over again and seeks savage vengeance against those that wronged her in this ripoff or unofficial sequel to I Spit On Your Grave.
The good news, is that this entry is nowhere near as offensive as the original I Spit On Your Grave in terms of its violence and treatment of women and retarded characters. Bad news, it is far more offensive in terms of its production values. Seemingly recorded on a camcorder for next to nothing, Savage Vengeance opens up with a rape sequence in which the rapists don't even so much as have to take off their pants or even unzip there flies in order to rape the main protagonist of the film! This sequence sets the tone for the rest of the film. The violence, the gore is just...

Ashley Bell has been a working actor since her teen years, appearing in plays in Los Angeles and in guest spots on TV shows, most notably the Showtime series "United States of Tara." Last year Bell signed on to play a girl seemingly possessed, in the low-budget horror film "The Last Exorcism." The weekend it opened, Bell flew into Los Angeles International Airport and was promptly swamped by paparazzi. "I didn't understand why there were all these photographers," Bell recalls with a laugh. "I actually asked somebody who they were there for, before I realized they were taking pictures of me."Horror has always been a tough genre for actors. Though the films traditionally do well at the box office, the actors' performances are not often singled out for praise. In the past, particularly in the 1970s, some actors saw their careers launched by scary movies: Think Amy Irving in "Carrie" and "The Fury,...
