Quicksand (1918) -- Lost Film ?
PamelaShort1 April 2015
Warning: Spoilers
Working as a cashier in a prosperous insurance firm, Jim Bowen (Edward Coxen) lives happily with his wife Mary (Dorothy Dalton) and son Frankie (Frankie Lee) until Alan Perry (Philo McCullough) , the extravagant son of Jim's employer, frames Jim for forgery. Because the fraudulent check was cashed in ward boss John Boland's (Henry A. Barrows) cabaret, Mary decides to work there while Jim serves his time, in the hope of finding the real criminal. Perry, who patronizes the café, becomes enamoured with Mary, follows her home one night and tries to force his attentions on her. When Boland arrives unexpectedly, Perry knocks him down, apparently killing him, whereupon Mary threatens to call the police unless he confesses to having framed Jim. Boland hears Perry's confession as he regains consciousness, and on the basis of his testimony, Perry is arrested and Jim freed.

This 1918 crime/drama was produced by the Thomas H. Ince Corporation and starred popular actress Dorothy Dalton. Sadly it now remains a lost silent film.
