A Short That Leaves You Wanting More
Legion30 December 2004
As the story unfolds, you get to see pieces of the lives of two different men whose lives eventually intersect. With the older Asian man, you get the sense that he's lost the partner of his life's journey. The younger man has lost more, yet doesn't know his destination. Will the two of them help each other find their way? The actors do well expressing themselves without words, instead using their eyes and body language to reveal their true feelings. There's limited dialogue, but its enough to convey what each of them are fleeing.

Good cinematography and editing. The plot seems a little implausible, but if you can get beyond that, you are left wondering what happened before and what will happen after.

Short film about two folks alone
Havan_IronOak11 May 2002
The kid is living on the streets doing things to survive that he'd rather not. The older man has lost a lover and is losing his eyesight. Perhaps selling the rest of his goods will protect him form ever having to lose anything else. Perhaps they can protect each other.

This works as a short and leaves you wanting to know more of the backstory. It's well worth the few minutes that it takes to view.

A very touching film.

Indeed this is a very touching film with very little dialog, yet the emotions are captured very clearly. The narrative is smooth and consistent from beginning to end. It shows the craft of someone who will have the skill do make very fine feature films one day.

Others have given you the outline of the story, so no need to repeat that. But the anguish, frustration, and disillusionment of both main characters is substantial and gripping, perhaps might even make you a bit misty at points.

It always impressive when a film maker can tell a complete story in such a short amount time.

Well, worth seeing, you can find several copies of it on YouTube and likely on other Video Archive sights.

A boy. A man. And the traits of lose. A deep loneliness and the right meeting. It could be portrait of second chance. The cinematography is admirable, the performances - profound touching. But it is , for me, an eulogy to honesty to yourself. Discovered only in the most deep grief. In the heart of the desert of soul. It could be defined as a drama or a film about faith or as intense portrait of honesty to yourself. Not the definitions are important in this case but the fact than it is a magnificent, bitter work. Poetic and realistic, in same measure. About that sadness changing everything. And about the sense of life when it seems lost at whole.
