Lady about town.

Recently reading about Mobius (2013),I decided to take a look at writer/director Eric Rochant. Going down the list,I found that unknown to me,there was a Rochant short which has been sitting in my "To play" pile all year, leading to me taking a very close look.

View on the film:

Turning the head of every man who sees her,Elizabeth Bourgine gives a sparkling turn as Elle, who treats the peculiar situation with a deadpan kooky manner.

Wisely deciding not to explain why Elle has a dozen men silently following behind her everywhere, director Eric Rochant & cinematographer Arnaud Desplechin swing the pristine chic colour of Cinema Du Look into amusing surreal Comedy, gliding along streets as Elle and the unnamed narrator act like they are on a normal date, whist half a dozen men are keeping in time to Elle's every move.

Very Imaginative and original short gem

I only saw this film once in '91 in Tokyo and cannot remember all the details, but it's one of the most original short films I've seen. It consists of two different stories, one is dwarf rabbis coming out from a bag and I'm afraid I cannot remember the other one at the moment. Rochant has such a bizarre sense of humour and I hope I'll have another chance to watch this film again.
