Clowntime is over.
ulicknormanowen17 February 2023
A musician down on his luck is compelled to become a clown's partner and secretary ;he plays the violin behind a folding screen,on stage, and the audience is in awe when Teddy ,the clown ,pretends he 's a musician whose sounds charm them.

A woman mistakes the musician for the star -a clown 's make up is deceptive- and falls in love with him ;as it's reciprocal, he does not disabuse her. Moreover ,he takes advantage of his boss' bank account and lives a life of luxury with his lover.

A pleasant little comedy about imposture ; the best moment comes when the real Teddy removes his make up :"strange, the lady says, I do not recognize your features "

It may possess appeal for Pierre Fresnay 's fans at a time the actor was working in Marcel Pagnol's marseillaise Trilogy.
