A blue movie - but not THAT sort.
Artemis-917 September 2003
This is a very good, well researched documentary on the art of Picasso, mainly his blue and pink phases, while he was classical in his approach to art. His major works of those periods are discussed and examined with the camera zooming in and out for good-effect, according to a critical, but plain for a person with basic education to understand - unlike so many 'high-profile' art documentaries. An old lady sitting close-by in a popular theatre, in the mid-1960s, said aloud, «What a pity he didn't stay in that phase for ever!» Those who only know Picasso's later works, and don't like him, would better to study his earlier works - and try to press someone to put this old doc in circulation again. What is cable television for, do you know?
