This is the first adaptation of this book on childhood published just two years before. It seems that this movie is very true to the novel, what is generally positive. Children are really cute. The end is indeed moving. However, unfortunately, I considered the film as a whole a little boring and sluggish.

One of the best Brazilian films.

Although the story is a bit incomplete and a little pointless, I think the movie can tell a good story, with other characters and a good soundtrack and also I think it is a beautiful message. One of the best South American movies. I highly recommend it (although the book is better).
