Episode 1 was originally filmed with Laura Taggett as Annabelle. However, due to scheduling conflicts, she informed the production company that she would not be able to appear for the production dates of episodes 4 and 5. Executive Producer 'Schutt, Matthew J.' immediately replaced her with actress Lauren Lowell, who filmed all of her scenes for episode 1 in one marathon recording session two days before the episode aired. Because co-star Larry Sutton (II) was unavailable for the reshoots, the back of Taggett's head is still visible in some scenes.
Central Michigan University doubled as the fictional Lost Souls University. Some of the ghost stories were based on real-life local ghost rumors reported by students on the campus, and whenever possible, the crew used the same locations where students/staff had died and these sightings were reported.
The villain in this series was the fictional evil University president Leonard Crabchuk. The real-life University president was Leonard Plachta, who agreed to a good-natured cameo as the overboss of Crabchuk and his flamboyant henchman Dean Hopkins.
Crabchuk's character was never intended to be a burn victim. However, because his "old person" make-up job was so unbelievable (actor Jake Greba had to apply a paper-mache-like mask to his face almost every day for four months), a line was added to the script describing his "wrinkles" as "burn scars."
