Gives Game Shows a Bad Name!
bronty22 August 1999
This late 70's blink-and-you-missed-it game show, a Chuck ("The Gong Show") Barris affair, may very likely be one of the very worst: not only is it ugly-looking -- what with its bare-bones, poorly-lit set, complete with ratty carpet at its center -- but it is AMAZINGLY sexist, even by the non-PC 70's standards. The premise is "does a man's [always female] secretary know more about him than his wife?"; this may seem innocuous, but, this being a child of Chuck Barris, every word, every sigh, every response, elicits a leer & 'knowing' glance from the alarmingly inept host Jim Peck, quite possibly this genre's phoniest. Nearly as awful is its laugh track: so shrill and fake that it may inspire laughter on its own (goodness knows nothing else in this god-awful mistake will)! **NOTE: This show can be found on the Game Show Network as of this posting.**

Hilarious!

I watched this show on the Game Show Network. It is completely and totally un-PC. It is a relic back to an earlier time. The bosses/husbands are obviously boinking their secretary (and most likely not boinking their wives). I don't know how shows like this existed, but it gives me a chance to see why my parents are so messed up.
