In 1937, Marie Bell's great film was Duvivier' s "un carnet de bal ", not "pantins d'amour"!

Walter Kapps's filmography is a spate of duds ,and "pantins d'amour' is no exception.

A young man ,Jacques de Trémouille, wants to conquer a music hall artist Renée (Marie Bell) .He asks his friend Charles and his partner Lulu for help ; Charles and Jacques exchange their identity and all the characters and more wind up in uncle Hector's castle , a man who ceasessly stammers -which is irritating after two scenes, but a big shock might cure him, they say....

The script is inept, best avoid...
