A couple of bourgeois winds up in a chic hotel after a breakdown:she passes herself off as a baroness ,her husband as her chauffeur ("I'm wearing a yacht-man cap!")All the hotel surrounds with attention "Madame La "Baronne"" whereas the chauffeur is relegated to the servants rooms. But all in all,the hubby is happy to get rid of his authoritarian missus ,and he has a wild time with the other chauffeurs and the chambermaids.Soon, the guests complain because the servants have more fun than them (like in "Titanic" ,the posh dinners are a saddening bore whereas they laugh a lot in the kitchen ,sing and dance ).
Jean Tissier (in a part close to those of Bourvil and Fernandel ) is simply terrific as a naive wavering lump;Suzanne Dehelly is a tight-fisted would be highborn lady ,wooed by a greybeard who is the father of five (girls)(shades of the Trapp family story later remade as "the sound of music")and is looking for a mother .
