I just discovered this film based on a Bill McGivern novel which I have never read yet. The story, taking place in Tangiers, of this lonely and desperate man in search of himself and then hired by a gun smuggler to become a killer, is rather awkward. But the director was still a newcomer in the movies, before is early death at only 42 years old. He later gave us LA BANDE A BONNOT, which is far more known, with great actors, than this one. Back to the feature, the unusual side of the story is the cartoons link to Lucky Luke character that is borrowed to illustrate the lead. You have some side kicks such as Robert Dalban, Mario David. The relationship between the main character and the little girl is rather touching, maybe the most interesting element of the whole movie. A sort of mix between film noir and adventure drama. Awkward but not bad at all.
