Common suspense
searchanddestroy-19 February 2024
At first, I thought of something different, the plot looked like Fritz Lang's BEYOND A REASONABLE DOUBT or John Sturges' THE MAN WHO DARED; the tale of a man who accuses himself of a crime he did not commit, and who keeps evidence to prove he is finally innocent. Here, the sccheme is nearly the same but less exciting, despite good acting, directing. It remains unfortunately flat, a bit boring. The typical stuff destined to home audiences around the dinner table or on the contrary sitting on the coach before going to bed. Just a common movie which however promised better with an unusual murder scheme.
