Mad French hospital horror
Mikew300127 October 2003
A female anaesthetist has got a new job in a lonely mountain hospital on the French countryside. Just after her first days at work her former lover and other colleagues start mobbing her, and soon after the strange death of a patient during an operation hell breaks loose, and a stranger attacks the doctor at night...

Strange things happen in a hospital, that's not a completely new topic. And there have been several better horror hospital movies such as the Danish terror art movies "Nightwatch" and "Hospital" or the French "The Purple Rivers" a few years ago. Here the thrills and suspense do work properly, but the storyline is poor, and the end is simply ridiculous and could have been taken from an Ed Wood flick. The action scenes are also made of poor quality, partially filmed on video tape like a student's underground film. The only highlight is beautiful Alexandra Vandernoot's great acting. Don't watch this movie before your next hospital visit!

Even when she is afraid, Alexandra Vandernoot is magnificent !

The death of one of his patients drives an anaesthetist to exhume the terrible secret of a clinic. A medical thriller which is well-worked in its form and remarkable effectiveness. The tension rises to a crescendo and the original direction, inspired by the great masters of suspense, brings an appropriately harrowing atmosphere.
