Apparently, "Le Phénix" was originally a four minute film (about average for 1905). But much of the film has been lost and only a little over a minute remains of the original...unfortunately not too uncommon with old silent films.
The film is like a huge number of Georges Méliès' films...he stars in it as a magician and operates on a stage. It looks much like at least a hundred of his films. He brings out a giant die and spins it on a table. Soon it grows and expands and out pops a woman...and the film ends.
Not much more to say about this one other than it's just a snippet.
