Warning:watching this movie is not easy! Jean-Daniel Pollet's movie deals with the plight of the lepers ,first sent to a colony in Spinalonga ,an island off Crete ,then after the medicine was found ,their impossible return to former life.Nobody wants them anymore and the main character (and the others) tell the director he 'd prefer life on their island where they could even love each others (babies were born but they were deprived of the custody of their children).
You've got to see the faces ravaged by illness who say to us: "we do not want any pity;we pity you,you who remain indifferent to our sufferings " When the short begins ,we do not see the sick and I thought the movie dealt with political prisoners ("I 've done nothing wrong" ).That speaks volumes about the universal impact of Pollet's short.
