In some ways this picture is the most artistic offering of today, but it has some astonishingly weak places and doesn't hold together. Its best quality is quiet, restrained, sensible acting, while its sets and photography are perfect. It held well until its villain (Stephen Purdee) said to the heroine (Alice Joyce): "Your brother (Jack Pickford) is a thief, and unless you marry me I'll expose him." The hero is Tom Moore. - The Moving Picture World, May 3, 1913
