- Colonel Jack O'Neill is brought out of retirement to lead a new expedition back to Abydos, only to find an old friend, a new enemy and a far wider use of the Stargate.
- An alien similar to Ra appears out of the Stargate, killing five soldiers and kidnapping another, a year after the original Stargate mission. A new team is assembled, including some old members, and they go in search of the missing soldier in order to find out how Ra could still be alive. Meanwhile, the alien Gou'ald kidnap Sha're and Skaara, implanting them with symbiotes and making them Gou'ald hosts.—Lee Jamilkowski
- One year after returning from his first adventure through the Stargate, Col. Jack O'Neill is brought to the Cheyenne Command Center after aliens have traveled through the gate and attacked them. The aliens kidnapped a female sergeant and quickly left, leaving the Commanding officer, Maj. Gen. George Hammond, to wonder how they could have done so if, as O'Neill had reported on his return, they had destroyed the gate at the other end. O'Neill admits certain omissions from his original report, including the fact that Dr. Daniel Jackson is still alive. O'Neill is subsequently authorized to lead a team back to Abydos to find Jackson and determine what the aliens may be up to. Joining his team is Capt. Samantha 'Sam' Carter, an astrophysicist. They locate Jackson and learn that no one has used their gate, but he also shows them a vast library, leading to the conclusion that there are many gates scattered throughout the galaxy and perhaps beyond. They, too, are soon attacked by the Goa'uld with Jackson's wife Sha're and the young Skaara taken prisoner. O'Neill traces the Goa'uld, but they are unable to rescue their friends, though they gain a new ally in the form of Teal'c. One of the team is also infected with a Goa'uld.—garykmcd
- In a military base, six hostile aliens, apparently led by Ra, cross the Stargate, kill five soldiers, and abduct a female soldier. Major General George Hammond summons retired Colonel Jack O'Neill and tells him that he will blow up Abydos with a nuclear bomb, and Colonel O'Neill discloses the truth about Dr. Daniel Jackson and the peaceful people from Abydos. General Hammond assigns two teams to return to Abydos, SG-1 under the command of Colonel O'Neill with Captain Samantha Carter, who is a scientist, and SG-2 commanded by Major Charles Kawalsky, to seek out the kidnapped soldier and to bring back Daniel. When they cross the Stargate, they are welcomed by Daniel, his wife Sha're, Skaara and the friendly people of Abydos. But soon the hostile aliens arrive on Abydos, killing several inhabitants and kidnapping Sha're and Skaara. Daniel and Dr. Carter discover that the Stargate can have multiple destinations and they follow the aliens. They learn that Sha're and Skaara are now hosting the dangerous alien form Goa'uld inside them, and the rest of the kidnapped people are doomed to die.—Claudio Carvalho, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

A new team commanded by Air Force Colonel Jack O'Neill is assembled, including some old members and Captain/Doctor Samantha Carter, and they go in search of the missing soldier who was taken. Traveling to the planet Abydos, they encounter Daniel Jackson, who has discovered that the Stargate can go places besides Abydos and that the alien could have come from anywhere. But the alien attacks Abydos via the stargate, kidnaps Jackson's wife and her brother, and wounds one of the team members, forcing Jackson to return to Earth, and leaving he and O'Neill determined to follow the aliens to save their loved ones and the missing soldier.—timdalton007
