Lost Passions and Triangle of Love
claudio_carvalho9 July 2011
In São Paulo, the nurse Anna (Milla Christie) is interviewed by the housekeeper Matilda (Zezeh Barbosa) for a job position taking care to the twelve-year boy Marcelinho (Fausto Carmona) that has been paralyzed and catatonic since he saw the death of his mother Anna (Maitê Proença) in a car accident and stayed with her for many hours waiting for rescue. The lonely Anna moves to the mansion where Marcelinho lives and they get along with each other.

When Marcelinho's father Marcelo (Antônio Fagundes) returns to the manor with his fiancé Rute (Paula Burlamaqui), he notices the improvement with Marcelinho's quality of life. Sooner his daughter Berenice (Andréa Dietrich) returns from Kyoto and she realizes that he not only Marcelinho is connected to Anna, but her father is also very attracted by Anna.

"Paixão Perdida" is a slow paced film about lost passions with a weird triangle of love. This is another sensitive film by Walter Hugo Khouri supported by magnificent performances. The central character, Marcelinho, has lost his interest in life after the death of his beloved mother in a tragic accident. When a young and beautiful woman that has the same name of his mother is hired to take care of him and dedicates to him the same love of his mother, the boy changes his behavior and improves his life. However, when his father returns from a business trip, he also falls in love with Anna that now reignites lost passions. My vote is seven.
