'Nukkad' is one of the best shows that were ever aired on the Indian Television. The show has everything that a good TV show must be made of - comedy, drama, emotions - and in perfect balance. A thing that could not be said about the crap that is shoved down our throats under the tag of TV shows these days.

The actors have done a great job in bringing the characters to life. The show basically aims to present the problems that the people of a poor Mumbai neighborhood face in their everyday lives. It also tries to bring forward some of the social problems prevalent in the Indian society and how they affect a common man's life.

Though this show aired on Doordarshan when I had not even been born, I was lucky enough to catch it on one of its re-runs on the Metro channel of Doordarshan and now am lucky to have it on DVD.

If you truly want to experience some good TV entertainment devoid of any vulgarity or hopeless drama (that are characteristic of the shows airing on various channels these days), then I highly recommend that you watch 'Nukkad'. Do not miss it, because if you do it will definitely be your loss.

I HAVE GREAT MEMORIES OF THIS SERIAL .ALTHOUGH THIS IS BEING RETELECAST NOW ON SMILE TV BUT I REMEMBER IT LONG BACK WHEN I WAS IN FIRST OR SECOND Standard (ACTUALLY I REMEMBER MOST OF my things in reference to my academic sessions. A great comedy serial but every episode gave a fragrance of emotion and feeling which I would remember whole life.

the serial portrays few nukkad (STREET)characters who have great aspiration in their life but everyone is happy.

their was a cricket match between rich and the nukkad heroes.At that time I didn't understand cricket. I cried when one of the nukkad team player was hurt. After this incidence I arose a interest towards cricket .Today I am considered a cricket expert. thanx to NUKKAD
