Gone girl.
dbdumonteil3 July 2018
This movie got off to a most auspicious start: a man's wife has disappeared ;the woman captain (played by the always reliable Catherine Mouchet ,who was a memorable Sainte Thérèse De Lisieux) and her colleague flips through her diary :the husband discovers that all was not that musch well in their couple:she 's a frustrated woman ,her hubby is a washout sexually.Pretty soon, he becomes the main suspect .

Sadly ,the writers do not keep their promises ;the story becomes muddled ,with an amnesiac woman who could be the runaway, phantasms (?):the scene when the couple makes love whilst all their neighbors at their window heartily applaude them bears more than a distant resemblance to the final scene in Roman Polanski's "Le locataire" aka "the tenant "(1976);when the movie goes thriller again ,the long scene in the morgue is reminiscent of Henri Georges Clouzot's "Les Diaboliques ".(1955)

The ending is confusing ,and as the plot becomes harder and harder to catch up with, some viewers might call it a day before it;too bad after an interesting beginning.
