This isn't a great documentary but it's good and serves its purpose. Short and sweet probably bests describes it. It gives a great insight into behind-the-scenes of the controversial Puppy Episode of the former TV show "Ellen", the episode where she comes out. Mistitled as "The Real Ellen Degeneres Story" this documentary is mainly about that one episode, though it does include some interesting insights into Ms Degeneres's personal life.

Ellen may not be a genius but she comes close and certainly deserves some respect for having the guts to come out in such a huge way! All she is trying to do is make you see what it's like for gay people. Watch this extremely personal and intelligent documentary if you want to understand how, commercially, Ellen failed because she was left to deal with the consequences entirely alone and because the censorship and prejudice that ruled the show crushed its creative and hilarious edge. (The documentry also has an curious edge now that her and Heche have split - see em' interact like they'll be together for ever!) Poor Ellen! Show some respect! She is a GOD!

This documentary on Ellen Degeneres was absolutely great. It talks about her show, how it was doing good until the day she "came out", politicians (most were priests or Republicans) saying how she is wrong about the sex she likes, and other stuff. If you are a gay hater watch this, you'll see that they have feelings like straight people.
