The novelty of having a Max Davidson comedy with sound is off set against the labored gags in this CAT & the CANARY rip off.
Max is second banana to a largely unfunny Fazenda but he and regular stooge O'Donnell are still operating as a team and we get to hear their voices.
The surreal gags accumulate in the later stages - Sweeny Todd bed, dwarf with carnival head, animating billiard balls and living statues.
The feeble attempt to explain all these of the ending just slows things down.
