- A rich father wants to marry his daughter to a fortune-hunting scoundrel. Lena and Al have other ideas.
- Al lives across the street from his sweetie, Lucille, which makes it very convenient. He can run across any time. Lucille's father doesn't care a bit for AI, but favors CIem, a suitor with more money than brains. Indeed, Clem almost gets in very bad with the old man when he tries to demonstrate his prowess with a pair of pistols and succeeds in almost shooting the hip pockets out of father's best suit. But in spite of this, he is forgiven. Lucille's father has made up his mind that Clem is the man for his daughter. When Lucille hears about it she phones Al in a hurry, telling him to hasten over or she will have to marry Clem. Al is in bed with his pajamas on. He tries to dress in haste and succeeds in getting on a pair of bedroom slippers and an overcoat over his pajamas and absent-mindedly goes out in this attire. At the home of his fiancee, he attracts no little attention until he discovers his lack of clothes. And then he attracts much more attention in his efforts to get back to his rooms. He just beats a policeman home and again in his hurry to get dressed, he gets his coat where his trousers should be, his shoes on his head and his hat on his feet. Finally he is properly dressed and goes back to see Lucille. She has made up her mind to marry Clem and when Al hears about it, he tries to commit suicide. But when Lucille and her father hear of this devotion, they relent and Lucille is told she can marry AI. They all pile into a car and go to look for a minister. They go through many adventures on the road, and Al is so excited he nearly wrecks the car. They run over a cow, and the trip is so rough that Al can hardly drive the car. As a result, when he gets to the minister's house, Al is minus his passengers. Finally they are all found and the wedding takes place as per schedule.—Press Sheet from Library of Congress
