Plot Summary

Italy, 1932. Fleeing fascism, Orféo and Nella Mancini leave Tuscany with children and luggage and embark for America, destination the new world - But fate unloads them in the old port, in Marseille. In the absence of a Statue of Liberty, they will have to live at the foot of Notre Dame de la Garde - In the heart of an exuberant and mixed Marseille, populated by Italians, Spaniards or Armenians, the small family of Tuscany will grow over the generations and through love stories, braving the little worries of life with fantasy, in search of freedom, love and simple and wonderful happiness.
