Sex + Sci Fi = Irresistible Nonsense
Nodriesrespect26 July 2003
The late Claude Pierson was a modestly talented director of slightly risqué fare during the 60s (like the self-explanatory ILS SONT NUS a/k/a WE ARE ALL NAKED) who, moving right along with the times, took the plunge into hardcore territory using a slew of other aliases including Andrée Marchand, Caroline Joyce and Paul Martin. His major peculiarity was that he undertook this journey with the unwavering support of his screenwriter wife Huguette Boisvert who made sure that proper emphasis was placed on the importance of marital relations, no matter how depraved the surroundings !

The blandly titled NAKED LOVERS (original French title : LA FILLE A LA FOURRURE) proves a delightfully brain-fried mix of lowbrow sci fi thrills and graphic sex. Just as they are about to consummate their union, a pair of newly weds (Alain Saury and Ursula White) are astonished to spot the husband's dead first wife (voluptuous German sex starlet turned French fornication film superstar Barbara Moose) staring through the window. Well, you certainly would be, wouldn't you ? Rather than going for the bizarre spectacle of boinking zombies though (for which I'll direct you towards Joe D'Amato's EROTIC NIGHTS OF THE LIVING DEAD), the plot gives us aliens - from the planet Eros, naturally - taking over the bodies of our recently deceased to mingle unnoticed (?) with mankind and hump a few comely specimens in the process. Highlight of this atmospherically photographed yet supremely silly skin flick is a cast-inclusive daisy chain group grope in a moonlit forest, with synchronized position changes to boot !
