This outstanding film details the Energy problems facing Mankind--- and their solutions-- and it did so in 1980. It is truly remarkable to view the "paths not taken" by the U.S. government and others, twenty plus years ago. "Harnessing The Sun" is more timely today than when it was first released. It should be required viewing for every American and people everywhere. The solutions and answers to our current Energy Crisis are easily available, but as with most everything in life, it requires knowledge and an understanding of the problem and how we 'got there.' "Harnessing The Sun" says and shows it all, beautifully.

A comprehensive presentation of solar energy uses.

During the optimistic early days, this balanced film gives practical examples of what's been done with solar energy. Over 20 years later, we're still struggling with the economics of large-scale solar electric. Recent high oil prices may make this film an interesting and possibly useful revisit.
