'Girlfriends 2' doesn't stray far from the formula used by the original. Same concept of using intros to set up a story before the actual segment. My hope was the sequel would at least match the quality of the first title. Again the focus is solo vs girl/girl. Playmate Shannon Stewart is featured on the cover, but isn't here.
"Pin-up Studio" has crew (Lauren Hayes, Bunny Luv), model (Dita Von Tease) and photographer (Monica Mendez). Dita poses & strips for awhile. It gets better when Lauren & Bunny get naked, but Monica never does. I felt it was a poor leadoff (7 mins). "Shoe Store" is the shopping fantasy these two ladies (Lucy Faubert & Azalea Davila) have becoming reality. They hit a mini runway, get naked and pose. I really liked Lucy in Playboy's 'Girls of Hedonism' but there's too much jumping around / too many insert shots here killing the vibe (6.5 mins).
"Camping" is at it's best when the ladies (Jacquelyn Caswell, Tasha) are getting naked on a blanket. Topless in a sun shower or at night in front of a campfire not as much. The intro with their dialog was forced (7 mins). "Ladies Night" is a pool contest where the ladies (Tracy Ryan, Gigi St. Blaque) make a bet that whoever loses has to do a striptease. A minute gets spent on just playing and Tracy loses so she follows thru. Of course, Gigi gets turned on and has to get naked too. Both look great & there's nice closeups with them on top of the pool table. A good segment with the right visuals & fun atmosphere (5.5 mins).
"Partners" has ladies (Flower, Rachael Robbins) fulfill their cop fantasy. You get to see them in uniform. Being partners, eating donuts, chasing down a perp. Then only in bras, panties and gun belts they stick the suspect in the back and get down to stripping outside the car. Initially I liked the idea and the sights. Then bad visuals sunk this premise (4 mins). "Road Trip" finds two girlfriends (Linda Diego, Ava Lake) hitting a backwater bar in the sticks. If the location looks familiar it's because it was used in 'Voluptuous Vixens II'. Inside the sexy bartender (Tishara Lee Cousino) strips which turns them on. So they hit the outdoor showers and the footage jumps between them wet & naked and back inside where Tish poses more. Its decent, but had the opportunity to be hotter (7 mins).
'Bowling' has the ladies talk (Kristi Cline, Kimberly Spicer) in the intro as do their male competition. This is followed by 2 whole minutes of actual bowling where the guys suck because they're distracted by the pretty girls. Finally they do a strip dressed as cheerleaders. Then Kristi dons a maid outfit and Kimberly licks whip cream off a cherry before stripping once more. They look great and there's some nice closeups which partially makes up for the earlier waste of time (6 mins).
The worry I had about the first 'Girlfriends' title ended up coming true here with '2'. The stories became too much of the focus which wasted time and the scenes couldn't make up for it. It's still a professional quality presentation from Playboy, but a step down from the first title.
