In 1967,Polanski was already writing with his favorite collaborator,Gerard Brach. Two students ,Marek (Bernard Verley) and Roger are good friends and they are planning a trip to Poland (where else?).The first guy is handsome and tall,his pal is rather ugly and short.One day,Roger falls in love with the girl across the street (Marika Green).But he is not self-assured ,so shy that he can't resolve to meet her.
A penchant for claustrophobia (the hero stays behind his window pane) displays Polanski's touch.Gerard Brach would resume the strange secret "correspondence" in the screenplay he wrote for Moshe Mizrahi's "Chère Inconnue" .
The movie was screened on TV about one year after its release ,which was rare (or should I say never heard of)in the French late sixties;it speaks volumes about its poor performance at the box office;or maybe the film was produced by the Second Channel and thus had to be broadcast.Nothing has been heard of the movie since ,it may have emigrated to Jupiter.
