I thought the show as a whole was very good until his big escape show stopper. David Copperfield gets locked in a safe within a building set for demolition and must clear the premises in two and a half minutes. However, instead of it being an "escape", it's actually another one of his illusions when the building is flattened and the illusionist rises up through a steel plate beneath a red sheet marked with a black 'X'. I have this TV special on video tape with his remaining specials and when the show ends with mediocre razzmatazz I feel let down. When David made the airplane vanish I was eleven years old. After watching that spectacular feat, I was eternally hooks on the art of magic; so,without a doubt, when I see stunts that are not stunts--disappointment pierces me.
