Dark humour, violence and coolness. In this case? Very entertaining.

This film came out, sadly, to little public interest but it did contribute to show that there is in fact a new trend of cinema coming out of Quebec, a trend characterized by fresher ideas and more audacious film making. 'La loi du cochon' is certainly a step forward in a different kind of cinema, a hipper one (because you need that kind too), with clear influences by films like Fargo and Reservoir Dogs. Violence, dark humour, bizarre situations, a great soundtrack, a clever script with interesting characters and, in this case, interesting visuals, the film having been shot entirely in digital. The camera also seems to often tilt and move around the characters, as if to throw us off balance or to add to the craziness of some characters. The many dead end situations the characters are put into will keep you on the edge of your seat for the whole ride and a few good laughs are also to be expected although the fate of most characters will make you cringe more than smile. A definite must-see for fans of the genre.

Quebec's finest

Warning: Spoilers
For a while, the only kind of movie Québec could produce were comedies and some dramas. With "Pig's Law", we get a refreshing breath in the form of a crime film. And God did I enjoy the experience.

*Possible spoilers*

This film has wonderful characters, which are acted perfectly. Every one of them has something special, they all have that little touch to make them funny. But the funniest of them are the thug pair, Paquette and "Chose", and Jordowski. The only dislikeable character is Adrien, who only come out as a racist, upthight suburbanite.

This film also has a wonderful sense of humor and direction, which both remind me of "Snatch". And speaking of direction, it's probably the best to come out of Québec since a long time and the story is well crafted. In the end, every character get what he(or she) deserve.

For every single of you American folks, I advice you seek out the DVD, it has English subtitles. And for French Canadians folks, it's a must see.

ok... a user already explained the plot and sumarise all this...

but what I want to bring tough is the liaison we can make to quentin tarantino and eric canuel...

This movie, i don't want to frustate anybody... but this movie can be comparate at reservoir dogs or pulp fiction beacause of all the emotion it can bring... And I think, what's make a great movie is the emotion that it can reach inside of the spectator...

that's it folk

Me and my friends were laughing at this crap

LOL, Pulp Fiction wannabe, I thought we got over that phase, but these movies keep coming back. The filmmakers didn't know how to use video, I've seen video movies that had no lighting and still looked better than this. An amateur effort.
