Better than the game for the NES and the movie anyway.

The first Home Alone game was released on the NES and was so bland. One basic locale, a house and the traps were simply squares that made the bad buys fall down and stunned them for a few seconds so you could run past them and begin the chase anew. This one was a side scroll game that had locales that reminded on of the film and had a few cut scenes, but had some strange things in it for the hero to battle. The game seems to take freeze framed pictures of the movie and cut them out and made cut scenes from them. It is the Super Nintendo, so I guess it is okay for the day. Just imagine the horrid Sega CD effect when it shows footage, then imagine it frozen and cut out and that is what you get. Meanwhile, the hero runs through the house battling various things including spiders. He goes through various levels and you win the game. Very short, very easy and really not worth mentioning beyond those facts. Most games adapted from movies are weak, and this one is no exception, but at least it is a bit more playable than the first game. Still, the traps are just about a no show which means two games that ignored the most popular device of the films.
