Cute Short Film
flixgrl6 February 2005
This is one cute film. Although the message behind this film is very serious and thought provoking, it was a cute, sweet, and tenderhearted film. As a filmmaker I am intrigued how well the story was put together for this short film in a very creative way. The protagonist character in this film is a very good little actress and there was great casting done in this film. The choice of music worked very well especially during the scene when the little girl goes home to face her abusive Aunt and Dinah Washington's "Love Don't Live Here Anymoe" ballad is playing in the background. Good music selection. I was able to empathize with the character is some way which I find to be profound because I have never experienced child abuse. Use of close up shots on the little girl helped to create empathy. I'm curious to see more work by this film director and I am quite impressed that she wrote as well as directed the film. Great job and what a great film :)
