DAAS Dead & Alive
ded_prod22 December 2009
I have seen this show twice live, 1st at the Rialito, West End, Brisbane, I bought the cd as DVD's were not available at this time (i'm going back some years now) 2nd was at Griffith Uni, Nathan campus last show's eva. I pretty much know the whole routine off by heart from listening to the Dead or Alive cd for years on end. I watched them on the DAAS KAPITAL show after "Live & Sweaty" every sat nite on ABC. Dead or Alive was the culmulation of there best material which is what they presented at there west end shows. Not to mention their very early appearances on "BIG BITE" ABC. These guys will foreva hold a place in my heart. DAAS LIVE FOREVA!!!!

If you saw DAAS in their previous LIVE video "Live at the Capital Theatre" then you are in for a real treat here. This show goes so much further.... pushes the envelope wide open and slaps us with a constant barrage of insults, profanity (derr) and beer. How is it possible for these guys to offend us so much and yet we come running back for more?

This show marks the peak for the Allstars. The material is fresh, the presentation is polished and flawless. In the previous video, there were a few glitches here and there (Tim's Japanese Alphabet Joke fell flat in the ass) but "Dead & Alive" flows from start to finish with out a hick-up. It is pure comedy craftsmanship.

The guys have since gone on to what they may consider greener pastures. Hmmm... more like thicker wallets. I have enjoyed each of them sperately in their own rights since DAAS broke up... but they will never again strike this kind of originality. The magic of DAAS is that they each feed off each other. There is no ONE great member of DASS. They are all brilliant as a trio. Paul's routine wouldnt work without Richards and likewise with Tim's. These guys need each other as much as we need them.

You will never see a more original and funnier live show.

I give this one 10 out of 10.
