Lesley Ann Warren Performs from the Heart
WeatherViolet6 July 2010
One winter evening in 1965, millions of viewers tune in to experience Rodgers & Hammerstein's Musical adaptation of "Cinderella," containing a star-studded cast, including legendary performers Ginger Rogers, Walter Pidgeon and Celeste Holm, with Stuart Damon as the Prince and 18-year-old Lesley Ann Warren in the title role, which introduces the lovely dancer, singer and actress to television and film audiences.

Peter Graves narrates this account of the life and career of the lovely Lesley Ann Warren, from her 1946 birth, in Manhattan, NYC, New York, where she spends her formative years studying ballet, figure skating, voice and acting lessons, attending the School of American Ballet, and becoming the youngest member accepted at the famed Actors Studio, at 17, soon before she debuts in her first Broadway Play.

This episode follows the ongoing career of stage, film and television star Lesley Ann Warren, and reports upon various high notes and low alike, with her struggles with health and relationship problems along the way. (Not even the most effervescent of celebrities seems to escape that "Biography" crew free of details of troubles and woes.)

Lesley Ann's first theatrical feature film release, The Happiest Millionaire (1967), also marks the final live-action Disney film which Walt Disney supervises.

Lesley Ann continues to appear in more than sixty films and on numerous television programs and, after a thirty-year hiatus, returns to Broadway.

Her year co-starring on the television series "Mission: Impossible" is said to overtax the lovely actress' delicate stamina with its demanding work schedule, but she manages to prove herself a versatile performer through it all, as well as throughout her diverse entertainment career in process.

Between the 1999 production of this episode and its March 24, 2000 broadcast, Lesley Ann marries second husband, Ronald Taft, but here he is credited as Ron Taft, Fiancé, and so Peter Graves adds their marriage notice accordingly.

With her marriage with former husband, Jon Peters (1967-74), Lesley Ann welcomes son, Christopher, who appears here in interview although the beloved Lesley Ann gracefully bows out and permits her family, friends and associates to take the spotlight for a pleasant effect.

Interview Guests for this episode consist of Margot Warren (Mother), Christopher Peters (Son), Ron Taft (Fiancé), Marianne Williamson (Friend), Sarah Tayir (Ballet Instructor), Kim Darby (Actress), Stuart Damon (Actor), Leonard Nimoy (Actor), Mark Rydell (Director), Steven Soderbergh (Director), and Mark Pellington (Director), with Peter Graves (Host and Narrator).
